The Spinal Decompression technology creates a negative pressure or a vacuum inside the disc, allowing the herniated and/or bulging disc to go back into a normal position. Decompression is achieved by using a specific combination of spinal positioning and varying the degree and intensity of force. During the first few sessions, you will begin to feel a reduction in pain with pressure on your compressed nerve relieved as your spine is in the decompressed state. Typically, significant improvement is obtained by the second week of treatment.
During each treatment session, you will be secured into position by an upper and lower body harness on a heavily padded bed. From there, you can just relax for the next 20-25 minutes. The treatment motion is computer controlled to provide a gentle and painless decompression of the injured spinal discs. Following your session on the DRX9000®, is 15-20 minutes of stimulation and heat.
Each treatment session lasts about 30-45 minutes. The DRX9000® Lumbar True Spinal Decompression Machine® takes about 20-25 minutes, followed by 15-20 minutes of stimulation and heat.
Some patients may experience light side effects with this type of therapy, including mild muscular soreness during treatment.
